Hello Aimee, I just discovered this wonderful movie and have recommended it for viewing. Your artistic response is lovely and a marvelous tribute to your ancestors.Each participant in this project brings another soul into the honor of remembrance. Thanks for your contribution. I was wondering when you had your baby, and thinking that your great-grandparents who stayed behind have really travelled with you despite their last days. Keep doing what represents your way of remembering.I will keep my eye on this project and would love to take my children there one day. Thanks again.

Thank you for your moving letter.

Just like you I was moved beyond belief when I saw the Paper Clips movie. So much so that I created a special mezuzah to benefit their program. When I went to Whitwell to affix the mezuzah on their new library, I, like you, was blown away again by the amazing kindness of the people there and the unlikely place for such a poignant memorial. They have brought actual healing to my heart and I will always be grateful.

My wife, Carol, and I also visited Whitwell in September 2009, after a friend had urged us not to miss it during our tour of Tennessee. Having escaped the Holocaust by coming to the United States in 1940, I was deeply moved by what I saw in that small Southern town. I was touched most of all, however, knowing that the memorial to those murdered by the Nazis was, and continues to be, the dedicated and loving labor of adults and children who have nothing in common, either politically, ethnically or religiously, with the 11 million victims represented by the paper clips scattered profusely in the cattle car that had transported people to their deaths. Ever since last September, every paper clip I've used and seen has reminded me of a soul lost in the Holocaust... and of the good people of Whitwell who have remembered them. Many thanks to Ms. Golant for sharing her experience in Whitwell with us.

The idea and the work is cool. I liked it. I like to make jewelry myself but I'm more conservative in it. I found a very nice book at the rapidshare http://rapid4me.com . I got a lot of ideas from it. But I can't say that you haven't do the same. Now before getting rid of some computer I'll check for interesting details.
